Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Valerie LaCerra is an Advanced Clinical Trainer and Advisor at Behavior Interventions, Inc., with over 10 years of experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). A passionate advocate of compassionate, research-informed ABA, she is a Level 6 Trainer in Practical Functional Assessment and Skills-Based Treatment (PFA/SBT), supporting BCBAs and mentoring staff at BII. Val believes trust is essential for creating an environment where clients and clinicians can excel. Her journey in ABA began at Pennsylvania State University Harrisburg, studying under Dr. Richard Foxx and Julie Aukerland-Brandt. She has since worked with children and adults in schools, clinics, and vocational settings. She co-authored a chapter in Controversial Therapies for Autism and Intellectual Disabilities and published an article in Behavior Analysis in Practice (2024). Val also co-founded BII’s Enhanced Program in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, which supports children with intense behavioral needs using PFA and SBT. Currently, she is influenced by the Constructional Approach developed by Israel Goldiamond, and popularized by TV Joe Layng, and Awab Abdel-Jalil.
