Meet Armenuhi, BCBA at Behavior Interventions
1. Why did you choose this career path? When I was first introduced to the field of ABA, I was fascinated by its evidence-based approach and the ability to create individualized interventions tailored to each learner’s strengths and needs. It has been incredibly rewarding to see clients develop communication, social, adaptive, and behavioral skills through consistent support and collaboration with caregivers and educators.
2. What’s your favorite part about this job? My favorite part of being a BCBA is seeing my clients make meaningful progress toward independence and eventually being able to discharge from services because they have achieved their goals. It is incredibly rewarding to watch clients succeed and gain skills that improve their daily lives. I also value seeing the sense of hope and confidence that develops in caregivers as they witness their child’s progress and recognize the positive impact these skills have on their family’s quality of life.
3. How do you collaborate with other members of the Behavior Interventions team? Our Philadelphia team collaborates closely across BCBAs, supervisors, and clinical support staff through ongoing discussions regarding strategies, case-specific needs, and logistics to best support our clients. I also work collaboratively with the Behavior Technicians and Registered Behavior Technicians who provide direct services to my clients each day.
4. How does your job make a lasting impact on the lives of the children you work with and their families? As a BCBA, I strive to create meaningful changes that improve the quality of life for children and their families. By teaching communication, adaptive, and daily living skills, I help children become more independent across settings. I also support caregivers by providing strategies and guidance that reduce stress and build confidence. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is seeing children succeed and families gain hope through their progress.
5. For anyone considering becoming a BCBA, what advice do you have for them? My advice would be to stay patient, flexible, and open to continuous learning. Every client is unique, and building strong relationships with clients, caregivers, and team members is essential for success. It is also important to remain compassionate and focus on creating meaningful, individualized goals that truly improve the quality of life for the children and families you support.
