A Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA), VB-MAPP developed by Mark L. Sunburg, Ph.D., and/or other assessment tools assesses your child’s strengths and needs. The assessment process is the foundation to developing your child’s program.

Behavior Plans (reducing unwanted behavior) and Instructional Plans (developing skills) are created to support goals across domains. Program hours for services are based on many factors, including the following:

  • How much time is the child in school, speech, occupational therapy, or other therapies?
  • How long can the child tolerate therapy, i.e. can he/she sustain 2 hours of therapy before needing time off?
  • How much service time does the child require to meet the goals?
