As we celebrate our 20-year anniversary, I’ve taken time to reflect on the journey that brought us here. Every year has brought growth, challenges, wins, and lessons that shaped who we are today. 

Behavior Interventions is built on these 4 questions: 

1. To what problem are we the solution to? 
2. How can we do it better than anyone else? 
3. Is our solution sustainable? 
4. Is our solution scalable? 

I’m proud to share the 20 lessons that have guided our first two decades in business. 

Lesson 1:  Put the families you serve at the center of every decision. 

Lesson 2:  Negotiate transactions as if you can accept either side. 

Lesson 3:  When making decisions – It doesn’t need to be my plan, it just needs to fit “a plan”.

Lesson 4:  Culture doesn’t happen by accident; it must be built intentionally. 

Lesson 5:  Managers are always supporting their directs to get the most out of them. This means they are always evaluating and asking is my direct on “the right bus and in the right seat”. 

Lesson 6:  Relationships matter. Trust is earned daily through consistency and integrity.

Lesson 7:  Fail fast and pivot. 

Lesson 8:  All processes begin to deteriorate once established. 

Lesson 9:  Success is rarely a straight line. 

Lesson 10:  There is always more to learn. 

Lesson 11:  1:1s, coaching, feedback, and delegation signals great management.

Lesson 12:  Leadership has the burden of repeating themselves. 

Lesson 13:  Developing organizational alignment is key to decision making throughout the organization. 

Lesson 14:  Always take responsibility first, then seek solutions for future behavior.

Lesson 15:  Build a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and safety.

Lesson 16:  Partnerships accelerate impact. You don’t succeed alone. 

Lesson 17:  Data informs decisions, but values guide them. 

Lesson 18:  Growth requires courage and patience at the same time. 

Lesson 19:  Gratitude fuels momentum. Never stop saying thank you. 

Lesson 20:  The journey is never finished—the best chapters are always ahead.
