Educators Q & A

It is our goal to develop individualized behavior plans that will support educators within the classroom context.

Behavior Plans Include:
  • Effective classroom strategies that can be incorporated within the present classroom setting and within the age-appropriate curriculum.
  • Ongoing behavior consultation to support the student and assist and equip the classroom teacher for successful outcomes.
  • Parent training that supports the home setting.
  • Functional Behavior Assessment  identifies and defines maladptive behaviors,  new replacement skills and strategies that address these behaviors.
  • Workshop Training that is designed to support the specific need of the student.
  • Individualized instructional plans that are designed with a reinforcement schedule.

Q & A

WHAT SERVICES DO YOU PROVIDE?

We provide Behavior Services to improve your student’s educational experience.  We address why a student is not successful in their current environment and what changes will improve their ability to learn.  Services incorporate the needs of the student, the developmentally appropriate tasks, and the expected outcomes.

ARE YOUR METHODS RESEARCHED BASED?

Absolutely, numerous studies have been completed on the use of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in meeting academic goals.

"Our results suggest that the embedded teaching-skills training program was an effective means of training support staff to embed teaching within ongoing routines of an inclusive preschool."

Schepis, Maureen M.,Wacker, David P., Cooper-Brown, Linda J., and Asmus, Jennifer. (2001). Training support staff to embed teaching within ntural routinesof young children in an inclusive preschool.  Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, 34 (3), 313-327

WHAT ARE THE COSTS?

Our services are provided as a Per Diem Contract.  As such, the cost of services is solely based on the current needs of your students and/or educators on a per hour basis.  This saves the district money on benefit packages, office space/supplies, and hiring/training qualified staff.

HOW WOULD YOU IMPROVE OUR SPECIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM?

That would depend on your current needs.  We would take the time to discuss your needs and learn how we may begin to use ABA to improve your programs.  Specifically, we may begin with addressing a student’s need, i.e. the student may have difficulty following classroom rules.  On the other hand, we may begin by addressing a classroom need, i.e. a teacher may need consultation on how to improve the learning environment.   It will ultimately be determined when we have had the chance to discuss your areas of concern.

HOW ARE YOU qualified to provide these services?

We started providing services for students with special needs in 1996.  Our experience ranges from working with students in residential (group homes), home/community, and school settings.  We have undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Master Degrees in Special Education.  Furthermore, I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
